Frizzy hair looks messy, unkempt and unhealthy. If your hair is prone to frizz, eliminating it can seem like fighting nature. But there are things you can do to achieve shiny, silky hair that include the proper products and techniques — and even home remedies.
Wash and condition your hair with a shampoo and conditioner proven to tame unruly frizz. Finish with a blast of cool water to seal your hair’s cuticles and persuade it to lay flat.
Step 2
Gently squeeze the excess water out of your hair using a towel. Don’t rub or you’ll ruffle up the cuticles, which is an invitation to frizz.
Step 3
Apply a water-based smoothing product to damp fine tresses so you don't weigh it down. For medium to thick hair, use a straightening cream to seal in silkifying moisture. For extra ease when styling, add some gel to the smoothing cream. The gel will hold your hair in place as you style it.
Step 4
Separate your hair into sections and blow dry. To repel frizz, point the nozzle down the hair shaft to persuade the cuticles to behave. Run a flat paddle brush down each section as you dry to achieve a straight look. If curly is your calling, dry each section with a round brush.
Step 5
Finish off a straight ‘do with a flat iron to lock in the style. Mist with frizz-fighting hair spray to give your hair an added helping hand throughout the day.
