Do Your Wedding Hairstyles at Home

When you plan a wedding, the expenses can add up quickly. From paying for a wedding dress to having food catered for 300 guests, there are countless hidden costs for a bride planning the wedding of her dreams. Luckily, one easy way to save money is to have the bride do her own hair, or have a friend or relative do her hair for her, on the day of the wedding. By avoiding spending money on a lavish hairstylist, a bride can keep her cash and still have a beautiful wedding hairstyle on the day of her wedding.

1.Flip through bridal magazines and celebrity weeklies to find a hairstyle. A bride should feel her best walking down the aisle, so it is important to find a perfect wedding hairstyle that will make the bride feel like a princess on her special day. Pay special attention to the hairstyles worn by people with face shapes that resemble yours, and consider the type of wedding dress that you will be wearing. Look for a hairstyle that will flatter your face, your body and the neckline of the wedding dress that you have chosen. Cut out a few pictures of hairstyles that you like and think would work well for your wedding hairstyle. If a friend will be doing your hair on your wedding day, make sure you choose a few less-complicated options to make sure your friend will have some flexibility.

2.Find a friend or family member who has some experience in doing hairstyling, or you can choose to do your hair yourself. Whether she has done her friends' hair for proms or sorority formals or has actually worked in a salon, a bride should find a trusted friend or family member who she will be comfortable with doing her hair on the day of her wedding. Make sure that the person you choose is up for the job, and be sure to thank them for their willingness to help. On the other hand, if you are most comfortable doing your own hair, do not discount that as a possibility.

3.Borrow hairstyling tools and implements from friends and family. If you do not own salon quality hairstyling tools you will still be able to get a great wedding day look, but make sure you check with your friends to make sure that you have the best possible tools available to you. Make sure that you have all the hairstyling tools that you need for the specific look you choose; if you want luscious waves you will need a hair straightener. Going for a stick straight look? Remember to get your hands on a good blow drier and hair straightener.

4. Do a practice run before the day of the wedding. To make sure that things go smoothly with the hairstyling on the actual day of the wedding, it is important to try out your hairstyle beforehand. Organize a time with the person who will be doing your hair, and show them your chosen hairstyles. Together, the two of you can come up with a hairstyle that you love and that she will be comfortable putting together for you. If you are doing your hair by yourself, make sure that you have a full set of mirrors nearby when you do your practice run. Check your finished hairdo out in the mirrors and ask a friend to offer her own opinion on how your hair looks from another person's perspective.

5. Put on your wedding dress and shoes to get the full effect. You want to make sure the hairstyle that looks stunning by itself looks even better once you have slipped into your wedding dress. Consider whether you want to accessorize your hair with feathers or a flower to match your dress or your bouquet on the day of your wedding.

 6. Have your hairstylist arrive with plenty of time to spare so that no one will be rushed while you are having your hair done. If you are doing your hair yourself, make sure that you have plenty of time to do it so that you will not feel stressed. Have someone sit with you while you do your hair to pass the time. Arrange to do your makeup or have your makeup done after your hair is finished so you don't smudge your makeup.
